Zinnias are one of the most rewarding flowers to grow in The Gambia. Known for their "cut-and-come-again" nature, the more you harvest the blooms for your home, the more flowers the plant produces. They come in a riot of bright colors that stay vibrant even in the peak of the dry season.

Why Grow Zinnias?

• Non-Stop Blooms: They flower quickly and keep going until the end of the season.
• Butterfly Magnet: Their flat, open faces are perfect landing pads for local butterflies and bees.
• Heat Warriors: Zinnias love the full Gambian sun and are very resilient against drought once established.

Planting Tip: Zinnias appreciate good airflow to keep their leaves healthy. Space these seedlings about 25cm apart in a sunny spot. To keep the plant bushy and full of flowers, "deadhead" (remove) the old, faded blooms regularly.
